HTC announces Desire 500 in Europe

HTC has announced its new mid-range smartphone Desire 500 in Europe which will be available starting this month. The Desire 500 was recently announced in Taiwan, it is more affordable cousin of the Desire 600.



“The Desire range has become renowned for bringing a premium mobile experience to the mass market,”HTC chief executive Peter Chou said. “This particular model, the Desire 500, is no different. It is perfect for people who are always-on-the-go, it enables powerful multitasking and live-streaming of important and interesting information, and it boasts an excellent camera and that bring your important moments to life.”

The Desire 600 comes with 4.3 inch WVGA display. It is powered by 1.2GHz Quad-core Snapdragon 200 chipset with 1GB of RAM and has 4GB internal storage with microSD card slot.

It comes with 8MP rear camera with HTC ImageChip, Autofocus, LED flash, f/2.0 28mm lens and a 1.6 MP front-facing camera. It packs a 1800mAh battery.

The Desire 500 runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS and includes HTC's Blinkfeed and Beats Audio enhancements.

There is no word on Indian availability yet but we expect that it will arrive soon, priced under Rs 20,000.
