Now HTC has removed Desire HD from the list officially . The reason they mentioned is that current version of Android and HTC Sense provides best experience on the device .

HTC's official statement says -
"After extensive testing, we’ve determined that the current version of HTC Sense with Android provides customers with the best experience on the HTC Desire HD. When we consider new versions of software, we weigh a number of factors, but ultimately the customer experience on the product is the deciding factor. We apologize for any confusion this change may have caused our customers.
"
However, users can still install unofficial ROMs if they want to try ICS on their Desire HD .

This is bullshit. Any case, I uninstalled the sh1t given by HTC and moved on to CM long back. Currently running the Beta of JellyBean. This device is certainly capable. ICS ran very very smooth (LordClockan version from XDA). HTC doesn't want to confess that it is Sense which slows down the performance, not Android
