So Flipkart is selling HTC Desire HD for 27.5k as a part of their "new arrivals" promotion.

Preorder link: Htc Desire Hd: HTC Desire HD: Price, Reviews: Flipkart Mobiles

I think it is a great price for the phone because in the US, the phone is selling for $590 which is approximately 26.6k (I bought my HTC Desire European version from smggsm.com - that's the site I use for reference).

For just Rs. 900 more, I think it is a great deal for those who want to buy this phone. In terms of hardware specs it is pretty great, however, the ONLY downside is the underpowered battery (1230 mAh for a 4.3 inch phone!)

Its no longer a preorder. They have it in stock. In Delhi, it's already available for 27k with bill and warranty!

Desire HD for 27 - that's pretty neat! The retail price for India is about 31-32. Probably has to do with the fact that perhaps HTC (?) slashed their prices. Earlier it was priced at about $680 if memory serves.

For those who don't have access to a local dealer, it's a great deal.

The DesireHD has a Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD8255 which a 45nm SOC whereas the Desire has the Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD8250 which a 65nm SOC. So the newer SOC will consume lesser power and will compesate for the smaller battery(1230mAh vs 1500mAh in the DesireHD compared to the Desire IMO.

27k is a pretty sweet price for it considering the Desire also sold for as much just a few months back!

Well thats what i thought as well but i haven't seen battery life go up significantly for devices with 45nm snapdragon's vs 65nm. Check out the difference between the Desire Z(45nm) and original Desire(65nm). according to reviews the battery life is very similar. One thing is the 45nm snapdragon has a more powerful GPU and baseband. May be this is resulting in higher power draw

And another example of a device which achieves great battery life even with the old 65nm QSD8250 is the dell streak, and it has a 5" screen to boot! And its not like it has a huge battery, just 1530 mah.

it had hd 720p recording!!!!!!!!!!!:ohyeah::ohyeah::ohyeah::ohyeah:

Even the original desire got 720p recording with its froyo update. 'HD' is just a marketing term to make it sound better, which it is of course. Though the only thing 'HD' about it is 720p recording, the screen is sub-HD resolution of course. Maybe Desire 2 would have been a better name
