This ebay link has a totally unbelievable offer of HTC HD2 for 16990! Apart from a totally fishy explanation given by the salesguy (bulk import from Taiwan!) for the cheap price, the RAM is listed as 128MB! The HD2 is undoubtedly the best phone ever released for hackers and I have been wanting one forever to try out all the cool roms available for it. Has HTC ever launched a HD2 model with 128MB RAM?

Looks fake to me, lots of discrepancies from the specs on gsmarena HTC HD2 - Full phone specifications

I went to the HTC website and entered the serial number as shown in the images in the download section, and it redirected me to the update page for HD2. I also noticed that the listing does not mention 3G. I think this one is a special cheap version of HD2 for OEM's or something. No 3g, just 128 MB RAM and much cheaper. I guess the ROMS from xda will not work on this even if it is original. Alas life is cruel!techno_guy said:

By "chinese" do you mean a chinese knockoff or an original HTC phone specially made for the chinese market?

Moreover HD2 is supposed to the ultimate Windows Phone from HTC. "OEM" is not another fancy word for duplicate or knock off. OEM products do exist and may be priced cheaper than the retail package for a variety of reasons. For instance have you ever seen a Retail Hard Drive package in India? Personally I have never seen one. Apparently our local distributors buy Hard Drives in volume packs just like Dell or HP does and then sell them off in retail in brown card board boxes and sadly in many cases without even that. Does that make them fake/knock off products? No, they are manufactured by Seagate / WD and are just as good as the retail counter parts.
HTC is a major OEM (like for example they are OEM for Google Nexus One). As a matter of fact, till just a while back, HTC did not even sell phones on their own. They were solely a OEM making phones for others.
Far from it in fact. Its the most hacked (far more than any Android phone) and community developer supported phone in existence right now. It has numerous hacked/ custom cooked ROMs. It has been hacked to multi-boot Android as well and I would not be surprised if it runs WP7 as well in the future. Other than the button configuration, I don't think it lacks anything required to run WP7 smoothly. In any case I don't see why any existing Windows Mobile user would want run WP7 on their phone in its current state where so many thing are currently lacking if you go past the UI and online services integration. As smart phone OS, to me it sounds like a down grade than an upgrade. Maybe when it gets more mature, it would make much more sense.

If you read everything that they wrote in the description, it has been clearly mentioned that the set doesnt even have touch flo or sense UI on top of i..Secondly, if you see the pics they have attached, the UI looks like a knock off of htc sense..
Read the whole description and before the end you know it that they have made a pretty ad in which they have clearly mentioned that they are selling the product on AS IS basis and wont take any refunds on this..

hd2 is a dead phone cause putting android on hd2 and winmo7 on hd2 is not the same as using an android and a winmo phone .. there are a zillion bugs .. thats y hd2 is a dead phone .. if u want to buy an hd2 and the wait for winmo7 to arrive on it u will find it will be very buggy and its a better idea to get a winmo7 phone itself ..
all this dual booting , porting another OS looks and sounds great but when i comes to practical use it does not work out .. i have loaded android and a god zillion roms on the hd2 but each has its own problems .. sometimes my push email does not work , or gmail maps dont work and a thousand other bugs .
so the point is if u want winmo 7 on a phone get a winmo 7 phone , if u want android get an android phone .. no point in getting a hd2 and then loading buggy roms on it !!

He would have been a genuine seller if he clearly mentioned that its a rip off phone. Instead he is trying to pass it off as a "HTC" phone which is clearly fraud. He is no genuine seller.
