HTC has officially announced the One Max phablet which we have seen in numerous leaks already.

The HTC One Max features a 5.9 inch Full HD 1080p IPS display and comes with a fingerprint scanner on the back. Design wise, the phone is similar to the original HTC One, with aluminum chassis and removable back cover and microSD card slot is also there for expansion. The fingerprint scanner can unlock the device and can also be programmed to launch different applications based on finger used for unlocking.

The internals are similar to the original One, including Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 chipset with 1.7GHz quad-core Krait processor and 2GB of RAM with 16GB storage. It runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out of the box with Sense 5.5 UI.

It comes with same 4MP Ultrapixel with 2.0 µm pixel size and LED flash, but it doesnt include optical image stabilization. There is 2.1MP front facing camera with 88° wide angle lens. BoomSound tech with dual-front facing speakers are also there, but BeatsAudio is missing.

Connectivity suite includes Wi-Fi 802.11 a/ac/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 , NFC and IR blaster. It is powered by 3300mAh battery.

The HTC One max will begin rolling out across the globe from mid - end October. No word on price yet but it is expected to be around USD 800 , expect the pricing to be around Rs 49000 in India.

So they following samsung now? same design but different specs? actually same specs but just different size of screen. Meh, this will be a fail.

SD Card- great(finally)
3300mah- hmm ok not too bad
1080 - Great
S600- wtf?
No Stylus- Why?!!!!!
Fingerprint scanner- just ruins the phones looks imo.

HTC One is one of the most sought after phones. What makes you think the One Max won't be either. In India they might fail considering their pricing and availability issues but in US they will sell like hot cakes.
Fortunately for us the price of HTC phones drop quite quickly in US compared to Samsung, so I am looking forward to picking one up for cheap in 6 months time. Till then the Nexus 5 would be more than enough.

NOT saying htc one sucks or anything. It is a very sexy phone. But max is the same phone ( or phablet ) with the same specs. When I say they are copying samsung, I mean that by design. Samsung's most phone have the same design, and same now HTC is doing. HTC One and max have the same design but just different specs. They should give a new look.

SD Card- great for multimedia phablet needs
3300mah- seems like best phablet for battery backup according to early reviews
1080 - Great
S600- gives better battery life than s800, but why htc why ??
No Stylus- separately sold :banghead:

These are my opinion :)

Hmm..I see wasted space all around the screen. Specs are good though, even if its the snapdragon 600. HTC One runs butter smooth with the same internals. Hope this will run better with the optimisations. Pricing is plain ridiculous!
