An official press photo of the HTC One has leaked showcasing the phone's front panel. The source is evleaks and judging from its history of leaks, then we have every reason to believe this is the real deal.

Rather surprisingly, the HTC One get rid of the traditional three-button combo and features just back and home buttons below its display. As usual, both buttons are of the capacitive touch variety. Another interesting bit are the dual-speakers placed either side of the screen.

However, the key selling point of the smartphone remains its 4.7-inch 1080p display with a pixel density of 468ppi. Judging from the press photo the One is going to run the latest version of Sense UI (5.0), which falls in line with previous reports. Those earlier reports also suggested the HTC One is running Android 4.2 on a Qualcomm APQ8064 chipset with four 1.7GHz Krait cores and 2GB of RAM.

Yesterday, the first photo snapped using the smartphone's 13MP camera showed up on Flickr. It's yet another interesting aspect of the device, considering its using a stacked sensor with what the company calls "ultrapixels".

HTC will hold simultaneous press events in New York and London on February 19, where the company's CEO Peter Chou is expected to officially unveil the One flagship.

I dont see the point of the 4.7 inch screen. I doubt people will buy it just because of high PPI when its dimensions are same as Xperia Z and ZL is actually smaller than it with a 5 inch display:confused:

Not everyone wants massive screens. The most popular (and by far most profitable) smartphone in the world as of Q4 2012 only has a 4 inch screen.

Yes, I agree on the screen part and in this aspect respect Apple for not letting their engineers stuff in a larger screen come every flagship.

The more damaging aspect to hTC's chances in the market are the poor PR they are gathering thanks to highhanded hamming up of the developer community and associated shenanigans engineered by themselves, for themselves.

The phone looks great, no doubt about that, but the chassis should have fit a 5 inch screen.

Moreover htc doesn't subsidize phones in India like LG and Sony. Their phones may be great, but the pricing are ridiculous. One x+ released at 40k. Wasn't really worth the 40k tag. Plus their phones don't even get a regular price cut like Samsung and the likes. S3 mrp is 29k, whereas one x's still 33k. The two phones are nearly the same performance wise.

Do you realize that this phone is actually bigger than a 5 inch Xperia Z/ZL ? What's the point of having a smaller screen in a body slightly bigger than 5 inch phones ?
