dont think that the sensation would have much chance against the SGS2 at that price point.
I agree. The phone looks uber cool and Sense UI 3 and the build quality is top notch. Should be a good buy if priced around 26-27k.

My take:-

The sharper imagery due to better resolution means the Sensation would be better suited for the internet browsing and something like the ebooks. Weight surely is an issue here, at ~150g compared to 115g of Sg2, Sensation surely is much meatier.

The polished feel of HTC UI traditionally has trumped one and all in the competition and this version shouldnt be an aberration. RAM is round about 768MB. That will prove to be a hinderance. Maybe only during benchmarking because HTC generally has the knack of optimizing the s.w beautifully, as seen with Incredible S.

Sg2's commanding SAMOLED+ is better suited for the multimedia.

Also the RAM is 1GB in case of Sg2 will lend a good feel to the users.

Clinching factor if i may say at the end of the day is gonna be the poor track record of HTC's battery life. A shame that they havent been able to breach the barrier on this front. I am pretty sure the price of Sensation will come down drastically as the battery and SLCD combination will never command a price anywhere near the Sg2.

Honest Opinion.. should be something like 24-25k. which they never will agree upon :P

Sensation vis a vis Sg2:-

+ Design

+ Resolution

+ HTC UI's fluid experience.

+ Chunkier feel (not the weight mind you)

+ *Front Cam (might just trump the Sg2's cam. Not a 100% sure though)

- Battery

- RAM

- SLCD

- VGA Secondary Cam

- Expensive Launch Price

EDIT:-

Any word on the speaker performance of Sensation..?? Another sore point from HTC has been pathetic cracking so called loudspeaker.

btw HTC has pulled an apple with Death Grip issues on Sensation. remember reading it on gsm arena..

The Salsa looks like a rebranded Wildfire S sold with Facebook functionality. Not a bad idea @ 10k but at 20k, this just won't sell (to normal people ofcourse).

nothing apart from the screen on gsg2 is wooing!! (i mean wrt other dual cores)

adreno220 blows the competition for now.

And screen is one of the most important part of any Highend Phone ,not to mention extremely smooth UI s2 has.

May be on paper Adreno 220 is stronger but in reality galaxy s2 performs better overall. So no point in having stronger chip if it cant perform better than it rivals.

See gsmarena review

HTC Sensation Advantages over SGS II

+ better build quality (we are talking metal over plastic body), the sheer feeling after you hold is different
+ better developer support (Just going into xda and counting the number of developers for HTC compared to Samsung devices and posts proves this)
+ Touchwiz Vs Sense (Sense 3.0 is hands on better)

Just wanted to point these out, my suggestion, give both of these phones 5 minutes in your hands and then decide before buying.

SGSII advantages over Sensation

Awesome screen quality ( No comparison)

More RAM

Lighter

Better Secondary Cam

Extremely fluid while web browsing( Saw comparison videos where sensation is not that fluid while scrolling and pinch to zoom)

Better multimedia playback out of the box

Battery life of Htc phones are horrible

16GB internal Memory vs HTC Sensation only 1 GB.

Both are great phones but galaxy s2 just comes out better than sensation. If sensation is priced around 25-26k it will give fight to SGS2 but cant even think at this current price. If u seen letsbuy is offering free accessories with SGS2 but not with Sensation which makes sensation even more costlier , not to forget only 1gb memory of sensation vs 16gb of SGS2.

The sensation may have a better GPU on paper but it should also show in real world performance.

The phone stutters when playing 1080p content in the browser. I do agree to this fact that the Sensations' gpu has to push a greater number of pixels as compared to SGS2.

Still its performance that counts.

I would say as compared to the Sensation the O2X looks to be a better buy.

^

agreed OOB.

it will be interesting to see how they fair after a few months with custom roms.

also the slcd on sensation is said to be mediocre.

and HTC did not get Alu unibody as previously advertised. overall build n design has been good.

the gpu on sgs 2 ie mali 400 is much better then adreno 220. it is at the same level as tegra 2 but neocore value in samsung phones locked at 60. adreno 220 overall good gpu but let down by scorpion processor and swishy new animations in sense. I hope there will be a way to turn that off

Waiting for August before getting the Sensation. I personally can't stand the Touchwiz and love the HTC Sense.

Isn't the internal memory 4gb on the Sensation? And I read somewhere that you can't root it. Is that true? :(
