I can't decide to go for which phone HTC Touch 2 Or HTC Tattoo, 1st is the Windows Mobile 6.5 & the other is Android. Both are available for almost the same price on ebay. Both have the same specifications, everything matches even the processor used for these phones.

So help me decide.

If you would ask me I would say "neither". The HTC touch 2 and the Tattoo are grossly underpowered in almost all segment for the value they offer. For the same price point may I please direct you to the Samsung galaxy Spica. The specs are amazing for the price and it is easily upgradeable to the android os 2.1 eclair, which is not possible on the tattoo.

Next to iPhone, only Android has 10s of 1000s of applications and many are cool and free. Android is growing at rapid pace.

I was also in such a dilemma 1 month back, and after comparing many models like HTC Hero, HTC Tattoo, I went with Samsung Galaxy Spica and I love it.

It is the best in terms of Price/Feature ratio, when compared to the other models that you mentioned.

Samsung has officially announced that it will release android 2.1 for Spica, which is present in Nexus One.

then would it be worth buying I7500 as compared to i5700?
the AMOLED screen is really tempting and the rest of the specs are also good..

Plan to buy next week so am stuck with i7500 vs. i5700 vs htc tattoo

Get the spica mate u will not repent.Even i was in a dilemma as to what to get but the update to 2.1 Eclair is possible only on the 5700 and not on the 7500.I know the 7500 has a AMLOED screen but the 5700 has a better proccy than the 7500.

Ok Samsung Galaxy Spica I5700 it is.. thank you guys, I am serious bored with Nokia's Symbian OS hence do you think android is a better option than Windows Mobile, keeping in mind Windows Mobile 7

How much will it cost in the grey market (Without Bill), I live in Mumbai, I know Alfa in Irla,Vile Parle, where such types of phones are sold without bill. Any other place where it will be cheaper.

Why do u want to get a grey market peice u might save 1K max try getting the same with bill off ebay use the ICICI coupon and u get 20% off .I am against grey market stuff

I've compared both screens side-by-side and the only difference is the brightness level. The I7500 has its brightness dialled up to the highest setting by default on cupcake v1.5, while the I5700 has set at a much lower level(less than half) by default. Even if there does exists a difference from a technological standpoint, you won't notice any difference let alone worry over the possibility of losing/gaining a few thousand rupees.

That's fine but i7500 has a capacitive touch screen whereas the spica has a resistive one....so whts the advantage of android 2.1 over 1.6 donut which is available for the galaxy?

Where did you get the info that I5700 has a resistive touchscreen? It has a capacitive touchscreen.

Spica i5700 has a *capacitive* touch screen and its responsiveness is as good as iPhone.

One advantage of Spica over the old Galaxy is that, Spica can play divx/xvid videos out of the box - no need to convert or anything !! I copied some of my avi files/movies (standard 700mb/1.5gb) and it plays them with absolutely no delay and the seeking of the movies is also very fast !! (So, I bought an 8GB class 4 card from ebay :D)

Another advantage is that it can Spica can be upgraded to android 2.1. After upgrading my spica to android 2.1, its battery performance is significantly increased, solid 2 days of heavy use / 3 days of normal use.

Well bought the Samsung galaxy I7500..cudnt resist the AMOLED screen...n 8GB :)

n got it for 12K so...m quite happy wid it :)...

Had one query...the bluetooth isnt syncing with the other handsets..need to transfer my data from my old nokia to the galaxy.

Thanx in advance

There is a issue with bluetooth file transfer in 1.5 .Use Medival bluetooth file transfer to transfer files get it from market.

Well there is a bad news for you.The 7500 will not get the 2.1 update but u can do it the ahem way.

I knew that it wasnt getting the 2.1 update...but had browsed the net and found that a few guys have modified and got it somewhat working on the galaxy ;)...with a few bugs of course ..

thanx..for the bluetooth advice.
