HTC viva and the public wifi!

hey guys my HTC viva connects thru my wifi at home to the internet ,the problem is that in public access spots the phone detects the network as well as connects to it ,but still is unable to surf the internet ? :(

I dont use Data or GPRS service like vflive,vmc etc.:S

The only change ive done is that all applications that connect to the internet go thru 'My work Network' option which is my wifi connection at home.

so how to go around this problem?:huh:
 
when u use public wifi, you may need to set ur DNS setting manually, check if you get a proper IP from the AP and DNS address entries.

Also avoid using "My Work Network" and transfer those settings to The Internet to make life easy for you.

Also, make ur connection priority setting to -> "Connect to my Work network" else "Connect to the Internet". This will also help.
