^^EVGA X58 SLI Micro LGA1366 costs not less than 14k. add to that 12k-14k for core i7. now, you get core i5 + P55 mobo for 19k. does core i7+X58 justify the 7k-9k extra price tag?? I don't think so because core i5's performance is very close to core i7's and not to forget the higher power draw of core i7.

i would suggest a i7 for the simple fact that if ur willing to spend upto 70k, the i7 has triple channel memory and better performance. also in the next 6 months intel will release its gulftown processors which are 6-core and will only fit on the lga 1366 platform.

i currrently purchased a motherboard+i7 920+6gb 1600mhz patriot ram for 34000.

with that kind of pricing its a godd buy i would say

I don't want to spend much on Cabinet and i want sli/crossfire mobo.

then go for CM Elite 335 for 2.5k

now, afaik, P55 mobos with CF and GA-P55M-UD2 does come with CF support but second slot will be running at x4.

if you want both to run at x16, then better go for core i7 + X58 setup as even for P55, you may need to spend around 13k to get similar mobo.

For the cabinet, buy the 'iball workhorse.' Looks, good, costs around 2k max. Will serve your purpose for the time being until you make up your mind to buy a nice and small looking HTPC case (i.e. if you buy the micro-atx mobo). If you want to buy a normal mobo and a huge case, HAF 922 get's the thumbs up. Costs about 6k.

Processor and mobo are two things you should never compromise on. Buying a LGA1366 + X58 (i7 platform) setup will keep your options for upgrade open. Also, the current X58 based mobo's support upto 24GB DDR3 RAM. Should be enuf for the next 5 years at least.

When buying a premium setup, never compromise on upgradability options.

I don't need speakers. What can be upgraded ?

If you want to CROSSFIRE/SLI, then avoid the P55 boards. Rather, get an i7 920 + MSI PRO-E ( ~10.5k, courtesy banik).
