Hi,
I was looking at putting together a small form factor media server/ streamer/ HTPC, that will run Plex Media Server, XBMC, Subsonic, UPnP, be a SMB/ NFS server, etc. In short, a device on which I can store all my multimedia and access/ stream it over Wifi or WAN. This will be a headless setup, where the focus is on size and low power consumption for 24x7 operation

Get atleast 8GB RAM.
Mini ITX cabinets rarely support more than 1 HDD. so either get a 3TB drive, or get an adapter to install the second drive in the space for the DVD drive.

You can get a wi-fi adapter if you're only going to be streaming to 1 device at a time.
