Hi all,

As you might know, I am getting a golden (worth $8500 :P) Opty 146 from Switch, so I thought - might just find the HTT wall of the mobo, just in case.

However, the strangest of thigns is happening now. When HTT=270, multiplier = 4, everthing is stable and fine. However, if i just change the multiplier to 3, Windows no longer boots and just hangs in the first screen (with no HDD activity after around 15 secs but the progress indicator moving.)

Whats going on?

Help,

Karan

kido i think there are some other setting that are preventing u from booting at x3 ..... anyways try booting with x2 and reply ...

hmm, w/o changing anything else....... i change ldt multi to 4x, it boots up and i change to 3x and it does not go past the first screen.......... very strange. pls halp!

aree just reduce the HTT multiplier to 2x or 3x yaar
270 is HTT speed naa? CPU Multiplier is 10
give maximum vcore.
you will reach 2.7 Ghz ;)

My PC hanged in middle and I reset it. It again didnt go beyond windows first bootup screen, now at 4x. Suspecting foul play, I looked in the Event Viewer and voila! WTH is going on guys? I never had this problem before.

Right now I am doing a disk check.

OMG guys...........

This is a Seagate 7200.8 250 GB drive. It used to show 80 MBps earlier. Now only 11 MBps and 100% CPU utilization. Whats going on? It is now causing instablity to my PC also. Please help.

Karan

Lol.

Youve messed around with sumthing in your BIOS.

Reset your CMOS settings and go back to the previous overclock. :).

Whats your raided Raptor speeds showing?

Looks like DMA got fscked. Uninstall nvidia IDE/SATA drivers and see if it fixes the issue.

yeah its working in PIO mode rather DMA mode .... go to control panel-system-device manger and chk for IDE it devices ....

Hmm guys, I moved the drive around in the SATA ports and uninstalled the DRIve and reinstalled it. Now the speeds seem back up. But is there any way to make sure that the drive is alright? I dont wanna loose 250 GB of data.
