Where r u getting it from in Bangalore ? Also at what price.

E1550 is available for arnd 1600-1700 in ebay. I would recommend E122 as it supports much higher HSDPA /HSUPA speeds, external antenna slot. If you need voice calls support get a Huawei E1750/Huawei UMG 181/Huawei E176.

Let me know if your dealer has stock of Huawei E176 at good rates of arnd 2k :)

I don't think you can get any HSUPA modem at the price, especially now when the 3G fever is on. The minimum price I could get for E122 outside ebay was Rs.2350 + shipping. For E176, I could get a price of Rs.3000 at ebay, but it seems to be out of stock everywhere. Off ebay, I think the cheapest you can expect the E176 to be is for around 2600.

the question is how much of a real world difference is there in terms of using a HSDPA vs a HSUPA modem..

That was just a thought. As mentioned already, I could not find the E176 anywhere. It went for Rs.2995 on ebay, when it was selling a couple of weeks ago.

HSUPA is only for uploads....so an E122 supports HSDPA upto 7.2 Mbps and HSUPA upto 5.76 Mbps with latest firmware. If no HSUPA support is there you are stuck at max uploads of 384 kbps

With a Huawei E160G/E1550 or an Iphone 3GS with no HSUPA support you are stuck at 384k upload speeds while which HSUPA enabled ones like Iphone 4G/Huawei E122 etc upload speed can go as high as 2/5.76 Mbps.

Also both BSNL and Docomo 3G networks supports HSUPA at least upto 2 Mbps as evident from the speedtests :p
