PC Peripherals huge number of small pics to be digitised

there is a huge bundle of mainly 'passport' and 'stamp' size pics and a bundle of id cards
need to digitise them quickly
do normal id card scanners bend them??
Bending these would be a disadvantage
what is the best way??
Please help

huge = how huge? hundreds or thousands?

if less than hundred, scan multiple cards on a scanner and then crop the individual pics.

Or mount a digicam on a tripod and start clicking. No idea about card scanners.

scanning and then cropping works for me to.

place pics in a grid patter so that cropping becomes easier and faster.

it will be much faster than scanning one item at a time on a card scanner.

if you do not own a scanner or can not acquire one by borrowing then then you can look for help from foto printing labs. ask any architect or commercial arts student you know in your locality and they will take you to the correct place and get your scanning job done quicker. you may ask them to crop but they will charge you alot as they already run on a tight schedule. get a quote 1st and then see if you can afford a scanner

well i do have a flat bed scanner
no of pics about 1.5k
i did find some software to cut up a big scan into small squares, but could u suggest some??
Also that digicam on tripod idea, how fast is that for a non pro

after looking around decided to use madnav strategy on the loose pics
for pics stapled / pasted on a4 paper forms decided to get this as it seems faster:
fujitsu fi-60f A6 flatbed scanner
seems great for quick scan of single id cards and bills etc and has small footprint, ideal for front desk
