Hunt for a DVD player!

So my mom has finally discovered that you can store many songs and movies in a hard drive and her friends at Kitty Party told her that now you can play movies and songs via hard drive with a DVD player, so she wants me to buy a DVD player. I am okay with this, but I told her to go for an LED TV with USB support, but she just loves her 29 inch CRT TV too much which was a gift from her dearly departed sister. So this led me to looking out for a replacement of our 3 year old Philips DVD player (minus USB) to a new DVD player with USB support. So the (obvious) requirements are as follows:

1. Budget under 3K

2. Should play most of the video formats. (Including 720p Brrips)

3. Should have a 5.1 support

4. Should be able to support a 1TB hard drive. (If not that, then 500GB would do too)

5. Radio, MP3 and JPEGs are a must

In all, a perfect DVD player :rofl:

Following is the DVD player that seems to fit the requirement, can you tell me if there's a better player out there?

Yeah. DVD Player is required. She watches a lot Satsang DVDs that the shops at Shirdi and Vaishnodevi sell. It's assumed whoever goes to either of these two destinations, has to get the latest DVD. And these pathetic (sorry if it hurts anyone, but I'm an atheist) DVDs cost only 25 or 30 Rs and I know that they can harm the DVD player too But she believes if you're watching such godly stuff on it, then no harm can be done to a DVD player. And actually, my old DVD player is a living testimony of that.

DVD Players are Like Evergreen device for the purpose of Satang and Jagrans. We do recommend it on several occasion at home!!

I doubt most DVD Player out there would support files of more than ~3.3GB due to NTFS/FAT32 thinggy. I had my Pen drive with video file of 4.37GB but my DVD player didn't recognized the file. Well that was 3 years back, since then the DVD player is kept in a well packed bag and no one is using it.

Most of the files are about 2GB max.

I believe the Amkette player supports external DVD drive.....ext. DVD should be around 1.8k.

I do not remember seeing a DVD player that supports files other than Divx/Xvid....

Guess there aren't a lot of options then. Saw this Dapic DVD player at my friend's place which plays FLV and MKV too apart from the known formats. And it was only Rs. 1950 from a local dealer. I'll go for it then.
