Also suggest me a good cpu/mobo temp monitor. PC probe 2 fails to run giving a error - acpi error (or something like that)...

250gb seagate

When you go in the BIOS there is not much load on the system. Its just running your BIOS in the memory. Hence when you boot into BIOS the temperatures would always be less as compared to when you are booted in Windows(which requires good amount of processing power compared to BIOS). Hence when booted in Windows the application would show more temperature as your system components have heated up as their processing power is utilized by Windows and the application within Windows.

i just found a video on outube that claims that all dual core pros temp in bios are reported incorrectly because of a bug. think the core temp is realiable although thee might be slight variations. i will post the video link were its mentioned shortly
edit adding link
this here is the link he mentions it when he checks the temps in bios

edit more info

i did some more digging around and this is what i found
Your CPU temperature is fine.
The bios is reading near 100c because it has added more then one reading.
Divide your CPU temp by 2 and get your true temperature.

(a few) core 2 duo bios temp / 2

Mine is the E8400 and my Abit bios says 103c and beeps sirens all day (if the cpu beep alert is activated).
The truth is that if any processor was running for days at 103c it would not be from this world.
And it would have shut down.
this is from another forum unfortunately didnt have direct link for the post

BIOS shows correct temp. in more then 90% cases but if in any case someone's BIOS is showing wrong temperatures then just flash it :ohyeah:
