Ok my new rig is trying every bit to destabilize my mental state, again.

The PC restarts at its own and the error I get says: HYPER TRANSPORT SYNC FLOOD ERROR HAS OCCURRED.

Google suggests me that this is common with few ASUS and MSI boards. The preventive steps include increasing the VCore, RAM Voltage, underclocking the CPU, underclocking the RAM, disabling Cool n Quite. updating the BIOS etc.

I have tried everything and the problem is getting worse with each passing moment.

SMC guys were kind enough to RMA my first board but I am getting the same problem on the new board as well.
Also some of the web discussions suggested that this is hardware issue and not a driver conflict since people have got this on linux as well.

I have tried using the onboard graphics as well and I still get that error.

The problem is strange since I have successfully completed a 12 hour long stress test, using PRIME95 on the same config.

But now the state is that as soon as I get into the windows, the system gets restarted and I reach back to the square one.
I am getting frustrated with each passing moment since I selected the board for the purpose of stability and I am not even close to even my other ATOM rig.

I am not sure what to do since SMC people won't replace it, they've already done it once. I can't seem to find any solution for if I buy another board, I'll loose those 6 grands I paid to get this crap.

Again landed up in a soup.

Why will you not get a 2nd replacement? There is no policy that says you can get a replacement only 1nce. Take your cabinet to SMC and show them the crash on a fresh setup of Windows.

I'll probably drop in sometime tomorrow. The thing is not up yet. It just goes back to boot screen afte a while.

I loaded failsafe boot settings and it worked for like 30 minutes, before it rebooted.

Try another PSU, Reset the BIOS using the Jumper, connect only 1 HDD and use the onboard gfx. If issue persists, RMA Board. But I feel that the issue lies elsewhere.

^^^

Do not have other PSU so can't try that.

Have tried the other cases. No deal.

Just another query.
The CPUID Hardware monitor shows the 12V as some 9.7V. But when i get into the BIOS, it shows 12.2V.

There is a mismatch. Either the hardware monitor is showing it wrong or something is bad with the PSU (and that clearly explains the cause of all the trouble).

Inputs ?

Got a new ASUS board :P

I took my complete rig to the SMC guys and even they couldn't fix that thing. I paid a little more and got my stuff replaced.

The ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO doesn't really come close to the MSI E53, when it comes to bios features (I can't even reduce my FAN speeds in the BIOS) but still I am fine. At least my system is stable (at least it is till now).

One problem gone and another finds its way. This motherboard doesn't have bios controllable fan settings and I just can't tolerate those three 120mm fans running at full speeds.

Do I have any option, other than an external fan controller

I guess Asus Q-Fan can quite the CPU fan a bit but the front and the rear 120mm fans are just producing too much of noise. Suggestions ?

Use speedfan, it will work !

"SpeedFan reported fan speeds from all three headers as well as the "CPU" and "MB" temperatures indicated in Asus' PC Probe utility. SpeedFan can control the CPU_FAN header (only if a PWM fan is connected) and the CHA_FAN header. To enable fan control, select the "IT8712F-J" chip in the Advanced tab of the Configuration menu and set all the PWM modes to "Software Controlled."

Heard of AMD Overdrive?

I use that and it works perfectly...all fan settings can be controlled while u r using Windows....
