although there is a recent announcement that 2g data rates has been reduced, but i am not seeing them online in airtel recharge section?

is it applicable only for postpaid or prepaid also?

news article

I think the reduced data charges only apply for general surfing without any data plans or if you have exhausted your usage limit of your data plan. Earlier it was 10 paisa/10kb which is now 1 paisa/10kb (please correct me if my assumption is wrong). But in reality they have increased the data plan charges so this reduction is pointless for people who were using 2G data plans. I was using their 2G plan of 2GB for 98/- which is now 1GB for 125!! :rage:

ok guys, i got reply from customer care
they have not reduced any rates for my circle (Delhi-NCR)

even in the above mentioned news link it was stated that validity also increased from 7days to 30days, this one also not applicable i guess.

I wonder what are those selected circles where they reduced the rates

@gauravH
even 125rs for 1gb is not discounted, earlier i used to get 1gb for 98rs

^^ forget about the news article... that's bullshit.

I remember using Rs 98 plan last in 2011, towards the end of year. The point is you remained aloof for a year and suddenly started looking for discounted plans? There are new discounted plans launched, if you know where to find them. I've been using 2G plans since 2010 and I can see that some of the plans have now lesser rates.
