Hi,

I am very confused abt the graphics cards now.........

What if NVIDIA suddenly launches a 7800Ultra 1 day after ATI launch? A higher clocked 24 pipeline G70 paired with 512 MB. Then it will wash away X1800XT just like that.

I will be getting everything but the GFX card now. I wanna see NVIDIA's responce and performance benchmarks (in English) and then buy.

I hope everyone agree's with this.......

I Agree. But nVidia isnt coming out with a 7800 Ultra, because of the availability of the GTX and the mostly Non-Availability of the x1800 xl and xt's.
 
^^ i personally don't think Nv would launch a 7800U cause it would backbite them as a lot of peeps have went for the 7800GTX taking it to be the fastest offering from NV. Then again if that happens the r580 is already taped out and ready. ;) Plus ATi new r520 add a lot of new features like Avivo rather than only speed. So imho wait for the reviews on 6th and get what suits you the best. :)
 
Just wait till 6th October man, and then get the X1800XT.

Tell me are you really willing to shell out $500 bucks on a GFX card ?
 
There are few technical problems for nvidia.

They may release the 512MB version of GTX but i dont see ultra comming.

Problem lies in the 110nm fabrication. With that they wont be able to clock that core too high and get good yeilds. The GTX is having problem going past 500Mhz. only very few cards are going past that. Also there are partners who have already clocked GTX a lot higher than its supposed to be. So Nvidia cant even bring out slightly faster Ultra.

They will have to switch to 90nm fab and then clock it higher and that does not happen in very short period of time. And again when you launch the card with MSRP of $599 the customer expects it to be the top end card for that generation.

6th Oct my birth day......... but i dont know when the card will actually land on indian shores......... cause my dad wont be able to buy it on korea as he leaves the place on 6th I think.
