yup i know so thats why m telling you both compare your bios versions. You can ask him for his bios file and try flashing it on your 790gx (1st take your bkup) i'm sure it will work its surely a bios issue.

unlocking is possible boards with SouthBridge 710 and above (sb710, sb750 n etc) irrespective of the nb (780G, 770G, 790G etc)

dont flash ur board with some other bios... ur board wont accept it 1st of all...
