i-mate extends Jam PDA phone line-up

PDA vendor i-mate has posted details its latest model, the Jamin - also known as the HTC Prophet - on its web site ahead of its anticipated launch in around a week's time.

According to the site, the Jamin is a quad-band (850/900/1800/1900MHz) GSM/GPRS/EDGE PDA-style smart phone running Windows Mobile 5.0 on a 200MHz Texas Instruments OMAP 850 processor. It's got 64MB of RAM and 128MB of ROM. It's got Bluetooth 2.0 on board and 802.11g Wi-Fi.

The Jamin's a compact 10.8 x 5.8 x 1.8cm and weighs 150g. Inside is a 1200mAh battery, i-mate said. The phone has a 2.8in, 240 x 320, 65,536-colour display and there's a two-megapixel camera with macro shooting mode on the back. An SD IO slot is included for memory expansion.

The Jamin's existence has been known for some time, thanks to UK supplier Expansys' website. According to the reseller, the Jamin will cost around £440 without an airtime package.

HTC's Prophet will also form the basis for the recently announced O2 XDA Neo.
