Hi i need one for ma lappy... i dunno abt the price..

Do tell me which is best

ma budget is 3.5-4k max...

also tell me wat interface is better and wats the 2.5' n 3.5' ...

also it should also be able to be used in a desktop also..

2.5" external HDDs are portable and dont require power for working. 3.5" external HDDs are not easy to carry around and they need external power source for their working. the maximum capacity in a 2.5" within your budget will be WD 160gb passport....but if you are going for 3.5" you can get Maxtor 500gb for 4.5k - 5k from Bangalore SP road
 
thanks mate... wat abt the 3.5, wat happens wen power goes off? does it utilize the power from the lappy or does it have some bakup inbuilt?[Noob here]

lol no backup. It just takes power directly off the AC current. So the moment power is off, the external drive also goes off :bleh: . This is why you get portable 2.5" HDDs :) coz they are so much easier to carry and weigh less as well :D
