Storage Solutions I need suggestions for buying 16gb pen drive

Hii Friends ,

I am in need of a 16gb pen drive.My pc have USb 2.0 ports.I already have a 16gb pen drive Transcend jetflash 700 which is giving me a write speed of 17 mbps.

I want to buy another pendrive as i really need it.The pen drive i want now should a have write speed more than my current one(i do not want to buy the same jetflash 700 because of some personal reason,the pen drive is awesome though

).A 20mbps or more would be great.

Here are some pen drives that i have seen on flipkart giving 17 mbps write speed.Please help me chosing the best from them.Also if you have suggestion better than the one i listed then you are free to tell.

My buget is 1.3 k max.

Of all the pen drives you mentioned, only JetFlash and kingston can give you claimed speeds. Sandisk- piche se no1, Sony- I own 4GB one, and it never crosses 6MB/s. Only drives who can cross 15MB/s barrier I can think of are Corsair Voyager and Trascend JetFlash and this HP model. Even my voyager just manages just average of 12MB/s, not a bit more than or less than that. My friend has a JetFlash, and he gets 11MB/s, I don't know how are you getting 17MB/s. Coming to decisio, go with JetFlash again if you want VFM or Voyager if peace of mind.

Hii bro,

I am really getting 17 mbps write speed with jet flash 700 usb 3.0 on my usb 2.0 port ... By the way which voyager model you have.my friend have corsair flash voyager usb 2.0 16gb pen drive and he is getting 10mbps max write speed and even on my pc it will give only 10.7 mbps max.That's why i haven't bought voyager at the time i gone for jetflash 700.Many people are getting even more speed than mine with this pen drive on usb 2.0 port.Thanks for the suggestions bro.
 
Voyager is itself a model, a non GT version (no USB 3.0), and a GT version (USB 3.0). I have non-GT version. I never get less than 12Mb/s, but not even 12.1MB/s.

are you getting write speed of 50 mbps?? i don't think think so.. Are u using it on usb 3.0 port ??

Can you please tell me the write speed (copy from system to pen drive speed) u are getting on usb 2.0 and usb 3.0 port ??

If it can give me more than 20 mbps on usb 2.0 port ,then i will talk to flipkart and tell them to arrange it as soon as possible : )

He also have a non gt version bro.The GT version is not available easily and also very costly.IS Formatting the pen drive as "ntfs" instead of FAT increases the speed of pendrive??Is that true??

I haven't seen pen drives giving >20MB/s on USB 2.0, but my WD ext HDD gives 27MB/s. And 50MB/s on 3.0 is possible. My same ext HDD gives upto 80MB/s.

Its easily available and costs just 400-500 bucks more for 16GB version. And NTFS doesn't increases speed. Its just used to use advanced NTFS features and especially for transferring files larger than 4GB.
 
16GB transcend jetflash 760 usb 3.0 - Rs 908 on flipkart. just bought it. Read Speed around 55Mbps according to some sites.
 
What about a Jet flash 780 ??

Can it touch 20 mbps or more write speed.

I have Read that Adata s102 16gb giving 20+ write speed on usb 2.0 port.Is that true.

I can grab jet flash 780 16gb for 1.5k and adding a 100 bucks more i can get a jetflash 700 32 gb.Which one should i prefer??
 
I already said I am getting 12MB/s on my Voyager non-GT.

I wanted to say that, what difference does speed diff of 2-3 MB/s makes ? So, go for higher capacity.

It give around 50 mb/s on USB 3.0 port on 2.0 port it hovers around 20-22
