While playing farcry on my computer i see some black patches in the game .. Is it ok

I have been using big 6600gt , temperature reaches to 78-80 (monitored on riva tuner) on full load. Idling around 55c

Settings used for the above game . Resolution is 1024 X 768 , AA is high and AF is 4

Ah..ok.. where do i get the patches (i know i m being lazy , but its all due to cointinious rain since yesterday)

Saw the pics... those patches look bad. Install updates, though personally I played farcry version 1 on all 3 of my rigs with no patches.

Also a sign of overheating memory or core. Not to scare you but noticed this on my MX 400 (pine) and an MX 440 (XFX) before both cards went kaput. That was while playing GTA vice city. I used to get black specs in the sky.

No cause to get alarmed. uninstall drivers and do a fresh install. Version 77.something (forgot which) works well with 6xxx cards. For farcry you won't need the latest version as some claim the newest drivers stress older cards, but I dunno bout this... just what I heard.

yep, I also faced similar problems in Farcry with my 6800GT. I think its some kind if texture corruption caused by a bug in the game. Most of it got solved after I applied the game updates. But its still visibile sometimes.

Nothing wrong with the card. I had similar texture problem in UT2003 with my old ATi Radeon 8500 too. That got fixed with Driver update.

As for the updates try googling. you should get the links.
