If you wanna save some 1k then buy a single 2GB stick and add another later... You can also do one thing you buy the speakers later...

If you need SB then you would have increase your budget a bit.

In the above config you can skimp on the CPU if you cant afford by going for the i5 2300 ~ 9.3k and the CM Elite 310 ~ 1.6k.

So you can save 1.6k this way.

You can buy all the above suggested components at good price from SMC

Also I wanted to know if it's worth buying a SB and are there any better alternatives to HD6850?

I just checked the benchmarks of 6850 and they weren't that pleasing!
