i7 2600k temperature with after market HSF

Hi Guys,

I recently bought Thermalright venomous X for i7 2600k. CPU idle temperature is around 35-37 C. Didn't check the load temps yet.

Is this fine or I should get low idle temps.

This is my first after market HSF, Hence not aware what temperature I should get with it. Plan to overclock proccy soon.

Appreciate your inputs.

Load it with IBT (Intel Burn test) and tell the temperatures here. But keep a watch on the screen while running it. Do not just walk off.

and what about load temps if I overclock say 4.5GHz

the load temps depend on a number of factors

1)OC

2)vcore at said oc

3)cooler used

4)fans on cooler used

5)thermal paste on cooler used

6)ambient temperature at the time

7)case flow

8)the chip itself

reasonably putting the above cases into picture, at a 35 degree ambient and with everything else assumed to be ok u should see ur chip somewhere in the 60's at 4.5 with not too much vcore

(the above is only a rough figure and actual temps will depend on above factors)
