I had a talk with farookh and couple of other guys who were interested.

If you order directly from clove.co.uk or through my dealer, total pricing is coming about the same for end user. So most are preferring to buy it directly. I have already ordered mine and I know this guy will quickly get warranty issues sorted out if and when needed.

But most are not interested in that so they are buying on their own.

Discounts not possible as his margins are very small on this import at the moment.

No need to remember all rates and percentages. Here is a simple calculator to instantly get the maximum rate of applicable import duty:

8517*-,Telephone sets, including telephones for cellular networks of for othe wireless networks : Import & Custom Duty Calculator.

Here are the calculations for a TouchPro2:

Basic cost: 32k

Import duty (if declaring full value of the item): 4K

Shipping via DHL: 2.7K

Total: varies from 34.7K to 38.7K

A TD2 will vary from 27K to 30k.

PS: I won't post more specific details for obvious reasons. Any specific stuff, PM me.

Errr.. some of the ones you've listed aren't the cheapest web sites ya know. :)

yup, infact they are expensive. But these are very reliable with long back history of good trading.

In any case all these sites are good option only when a particular model is not coming to india or a high end model which comes late and very expensive.

Most phones are reasonably priced here.

When is the official launch of this phone ?? in india so that the prices can go down, cos thats what happend with my old diamond bought it from UK but when it was launched the prices were comparatively lw, which is well woth the patience

Well the reason for Indian Diamond being cheaper was the hardware. Your UK diamond and Indian diamond is not the same thing internally.

Indian diamond is not 3G which didnt really matter at that time and still does not really matter to most, but that made it cheaper to manufacturer and that reflected in its pricing.

^ They use a different chipset as well . The Indian Diamond uses "qualcomm 7206a" while others use "qualcomm 7201a" .

Also Indian version lacks the front VGA Camera .

Thats the difference between the two phones. 7206a is identical solution to 7201a exception being the 3G support.
No 3G = No need for video conf. camera.

Not much, the Touch HD has dedicated 3.5mm audio out, for diamond you will need adapter which is not a big deal as its freely available locally for cheap.

But touch HD is heavier, longer, has bigger battery. Hardware wise both are almost identical, with TD2 having smaller screen ( resolution is same for both , that makes TD2 screen more sharper though).
