Since many of us have bought bluray writers & media being too expensive here it only makes sense to get it via kmd. i got the quote of 3,220 + shipping for more than 5 orders. I feel its a very good deal considering the media is verbatim. for the same price in india we are getting the 5pack.

i ordered these
DK 25GB 4x BD-R Printable in 20 Spindle. Regular price $98, @20% off $78.40 ($3.92 per disc) (425 g)

works out to 10$ shipping so total = 89$ shipped to india.

tdk is cheaper than sony cause tdk is in a spindle & sony are in jewel case.

I still don't get the BR hype. A 10 pack blue ray media spindle cost almost as much as a WD 640 GB HDD and yet it can store only about almost 1/3rd of data.

Don't you guys feel its an expensive option.

Its a matter how one wants to store. People by flash media still at 100 rs a gb :) . Its just the way one wants to store.

[OT YET AGAIN]

But the thing with flash drives is that they are convenient to carry and are not delicate like the optical media.

true , but the chances that they fall and stop working etc etc is higher with hdd as well as flash media, the capacity this single disc currently can hold compared to a flash drive is still better. Yes when 32 gb drives cost 500 rs blu - ray media will be 10 rs. its just a cycle .

Easier way to back up the data. I'd like to back up some BR movies and play them without hassle on my standalones. And I don't think I'd buy any more BRs until they're like ~25-30 a disc.

1 thing u have failed to notice so far is that from ic thread. every1 i know owns a ps3 apart from supra. so that is 1 more reason for getting the media for us. also if i dint have a ps3 i still would have picked up the writer.

its not a question of cost/gb.
