Hi. I just got a WD7500AAKS from HardTrac at Lamington Road for 5900, all inclusive.
He is willing to go down to ~5850 if I get 8-10 orders.
Please note - I am NOT MAKING A SINGLE PENNY OFF THIS.. bill will be provided in your name as well.
I'd prefer to keep it limited to Mumbai people, as I'm not too comfortable shipping out to other places. Pune people, not too much of an issue either, as I have family there, they will be coming up and down quite often.

^^:O

Thats a great price.

Rahul's put up the same @ 6050/- + shipping.

I guess he'll have to revise the prices now. :P

but its a awesome drive , i wish to see the 640 gb 2 platter begin priced like 5 k that will be the bang bag for its price n performance

Please please check about the GP version...would be about 200-300 bux cheaper and id rather take that. Or post the contact details TH!

GP is slower, its variable rpm (5400-7200rpm spindle speed) but when im buying a huge hdd, its gonna be for STORAGE where SPEED is not of the essence but RELIABILITY. Oh and being green also helps!

good stuff bhairav.. too bad i just got my pair of 750gb sammy F1s.. otherwise i would've gotten this.. got a good deal on my F1s though, paid about 5.5k each ;)

^Ya.. I thought it would be ok if some people can't make it to LR.. they can pick it up from me/Bikey/stormy.. I work in Andheri, so some people can pick it up from me @ office..

NO ITS NOT variable RPM, what WD says is that the HDD will run at a fixed RPM anywhere between 5400 and 7200 RPM depending on the piece, but both Storagereview as well as Anandtech have said that they have NEVER seen any WD GP HDD which had a RPM over 5400. :(

Yeah, but I'd rather pay 200 bucks instead of waiting for 30 Mins extra for that backup to copy ;)

Bump.

Any other non-South Mumbaikars/Andheri-ites interested in this?

Otherwise, I'll get this thread locked.

It's HardTrac Computers, opposite the police station, before Tara Temple Lane.
