ICS using a switch ?

Need to arrange a wired network for uncles office....what he has is 3 desktop computers, cat 5 cables, dlink des 1005d-5 port switch,a broadband internet connection with basic broadband modem...
Now is it possible to share one internet connection between 3 desktops with the switch mentioned above ?
for more details on the switch D-Link Australia & New Zealand - DES-1005D

Which Broadband modem is it ? if it has Router capability then you can enable DHCP on it and connect your modem's WAN port to switch's port(any).

And connect rest 3 PC with switch and PC will get the IP from modem.

Its some cheap modem(dont remember the name as its in uncle's office). It doesn't have router capability...other solution please

Other Solution is XP ICS. You need to install 1 more NIC to one of your desktop. and enable ICS.

MODEM >>>> NIC #1 DESKTOP

Desktop NIC #2 >>>> Swicth

Switch>>>> Rest PCs.

But double check your modem coz almost every modem comes now with Router capability.

I'm assuming that the IP address of the router is 192.168.1.1...
Just attach the router with a straight CAT5/5e/Cat6 Patch cable to the switch. And in the network settings of all 3 machine set the default gateway & DNS as 192.168.1.1..........

@NoName. bro check the specs again. it is modem cum router.

it has DHCP feature. so all you have to do is ENABLE DHCP on it . and connect rest desktops to swicth. and PC will fetch IPs from Router.

Followed andrew327's instructions and setup static ip on all the machines, and the default gateway is the modems ip address....ics is working

Thank you cisco_tech and andrew327
