Ideal Laptop Needed: 35k-40k

Hi All,

This is my first post in techenclave :) so here is my post i need to buy a laptop with in a price range of 35,000 - 40,000

here are the features i need

Main use : Programming - Gaming - Browsing

very good Good Battery Backup ( i don't have a good idea on battery backup if possible 5-6 hrs)

also good cooling

Need not look Good but should be sturdy also i don't care about brands any brand which does good should be enough

Storage minimum 500 GB

Ram - 2-4 GB

Graphics - 1GB (need not be High end. medium - low is good )

Processor: i5 or i7

shouldn't give frequent problems (i know there will be problems but some models have many problems)

Good after sales support

will not be buying one for long(~4 years) so needs to last long

well i guess I'm asking to much for the money I'm going to spend do feel free to suggest alternatives with lower specs.

Thanks Dark Angel but the website says battery backup up to 3 hrs also is Asus support good in India? any similar model with higher battery backup?

Almost similar speced Asus K53SV.(It lacks USB 3.0 which the one I recommended has) Battery life is 4hrs 16 mins browsing using wifi.

If you want battery life then the Acer TimelineX model is the one to get. Gives 8+ hrs browsing over wifi!

But it suffers from throttling. Not sure whether it has been fixed with a newer version of BIOS in the recent shipments.

I'm quite satisfied with the laptop specs. now thinking about after sales support from the official asus website they dont have a office in hyderabad will cal them once and check.
 
Asus do provide support in all Tier-I and most Tier-II cities. So service in Hyderabad shouldnt be an issue.

I own an ASUS K53SV-SX520D. Let me specify it in short.

Good Proc. Pretty Fast than expectations.

Good GPU.

Good Build Quality.

Good KeyBoard.

One USB 3.0 Port.

Battery life around 3hrs on wifi. 3.5 or 4 without wifi

Above average looks(U wont be disappointed )

Only Brown color is available black wud have been good but nonetheless brown aint looks that bad.

Good Quality Screen,Black level are not that good as apple MBP but similar to dell xps HD(1366x768) screen.

Sound quality is good but very low on the laptop inbuilt speakers. If u r like me who use headphones most of the time than it is good to go.

Didnt get much hot while running. 70 degrees Celsius is the max temp i have ever encountered while playing NFS hot Pursuit. Didnt try any other game though.

At 38K its the best u can get.
 
Got the Laptop everything seem fine. It came with 64 bit drivers had to download 32 bit ones but would have been easier if it was in one package there were ~80 files also named confusingly there were many different drivers for the same category for ex vga card there were 3 different didnt quite immedieatly understand which one to use also the battery shows ~2hrs left when full @sensatul and Sahib how much backup are u people geting ? also i guess the displayed value is not correct. on ubuntu 11.10 there seems to be some problem the laptop reacts 2-5 seconds late might be adriver issue it shows 2.6G RAM in ubuntu on windows it shows 4G i guess its some problem with the vga card any useful pointers anyone ?
