For the past few weeks, I have been receiving several threat alerts from my Antivirus software when I use P2P software for downloading stuff online. I just reformatted my machine and now, I just log onto P2P sharing websites to get what I want online. I use Microsoft IE 8’s Smartscreen Filter to check every site before I start clicking on links…I’ve found this to be a foolproof technique so far as I have not found any malware on my comp, from visiting safe websites.

Just curious, have you used Firefox? more so, with security related add-ons enabled?

for Spyware/Malware, use Windows Defender. Smartscreen will help you but to an extent.
