IEM for Sansa clip+

Head Direct RE 1 mate .Its the best in its class.You are gonna love music through it ,else u can try the RE 0 also ,but its more of flat .You can purchase it directly from head direct or Amarbir of Lynx India here in TE.

Depends on what type of music you listen to and whether you'd use an amp.

Be warned that I do not own/tried any of this and purely going by what I've read (except for RE0).

  1. SoundMagic PL-50
  2. SoundMagic PL-30 - Brendon's Review
  3. Fischer Eterna: Said to be "musical", but also considered "Bassy" in Russia compared to equally priced Silver Bullet from Fischer.
  4. NuForce NE-6: $39 + shipping. Basically NE-7m without Mic (ask KMD for quote)

If you like your music bassy, Eterna, NE-6 and to a lesser extent PL-11 could be your choices.

Eterna is also said to be "revealing" of poor quality rips. From what I've read, they are also easily driven unamped, but get better with more amping.

SilverBullet seems to be the neutral IEM among Fischer's popular IEMs. One review said that they need more power and hence sound better amped.

If you can offshoot your budget of 3K, then Head-Direct RE0 is also an option. It's Bass is enough for some, but bass-heads may not like it. It can do better with an Amp and/or more volume. However, it's neutral signature may not appeal to everybody.

Well, RE1 costs similar to RE0. One of the impressions from Head-Fi goes ... (Do not know if it's accurate as I do not own / have listened to RE1 or RE2)

RE0: Bright, detailed, airy. Likes amp
RE1: neutral, accurate, balanced. NEEDS amp.
RE2: budget detail phones, pride of the price point. Unamped.

@ OP, what sort of sound signature are you looking for ?

Wouldn't recommend a RE-0/RE-1 unless you can invest in a decent amp .Fiio E5 minimum :). Anyways the RE0/RE1 cost ~4.5k , so out of your mentioned budget.IMO , the RE-2 +E5 combo is unbeatable under 3k :P.Do consider Soundmagic PL-50 as well.
 
Hi OP,

Cable length will not be a problem with RE2,.what do u mean by medium bass?

Do consider PL-50,IMO they complement the clip's sound signature really well.You will not be disappointed with both and u can listen to both for hours without straining your ears.

If your budget is around 4k, go for the Klipsch IMAGE S4.

I haven't heard the head direct or sound magic ones but i own a sennheiser cx-500 and when i head the Klipsch, i really wished i hadnt bought the sennheisers....
