Hi. My (Ours, team of 4) final year project deals with transport management build on Android and Groovy on Grails.

The thing is, "Transport Management Application" doesn't sound all that good. We're looking out for something better. More so like a synonym.

I managed to come up with ATMA - Application for Transport Monitoring using Android

and SMART - Speed Monitoring Application in Real Time (but its not just speed monitoring)

Can anyone help us out with more interesting synonyms?

To give a head start, heres a little insight into our project: Its basically built taking public transport (buses) into account. It can also be used for any vehicle.

The problems associated with public transport could be the fact that (i) the vehicles over speed at certain areas like school and hospital zones, (ii) the vehicle skips a pick up point either deliberately or accidentally, (iii) there could be a problem with the vehicle such as mechanical failure that hinders its normal work schedule and (iv) the vehicle can be misused for personal gains during or after its scheduled working hours.

2.1.3 User stories

2.1.3.1 Commuter Role

• “As a commuter, I want the vehicle to stop at the pick-up point so that I may board or alight the vehicle.”

2.1.3.2 Driver Role

• “As the vehicle driver, I want the safe speed limit notified to me so that I do not risk over speeding.”

• “As the vehicle driver, I want an option to select the right route on which I will be driving.”

• “As the vehicle driver, I want a panic button facility so as to notify the administrative authority in real time about abnormalities encountered.”

2.1.3.3 Administrator Role

• “As the administrative authority, I would like to see a list of drivers who have bypassed the safe speed limit so as to take corrective measure.”

• “As the administrative authority, I would like to see a list of drivers who have skipped a pick up point either deliberately or accidentally so as to take corrective measure.”

• “As the administrative authority, I would like to see the location of the vehicle in the event of an emergency, i.e. whenever there is a panic alert deployed by the driver.”

• “As the administrative authority, I would like to see the location of the vehicle where it either over sped or skipped the scheduled pick up point.”

• “As the administrative authority, I would like to see the location of the vehicle if it isn’t at the notified destination at the end of its scheduled dismissal.”

• “As the administrative authority, I would like to set up new routes or modify existing routes as and when the need arises.”

• “As the administrative authority, I would like to set up new speed limit zones or modify existing speed limit zones as and when the need arises.”

• “As an administrative authority, I’d like to receive an SMS immediately upon the pressing of a panic button by the concerned driver so as to tend to the situation as soon as possible.”

• “As an administrative authority I would like an SMS to be automatically dispatched to the driver about his defaulting behaviour (if any) at the end of every trip he makes so as to notify him about his current outstanding offences.”

Whatever is quoted is straight outta my project report. Based on that, I'd really appreciate if someone could suggest a few acronyms
