Please start a donation drive or donation thread. I do not want premium membership but want to donate to TE...

Donation cant be permamnent...not every1 is gng to donate every month...
 
Ok everyone can contribute in his or her own way... If TE needs help i can do my share...

May people think what they please....

I just wanted to say one thing. While we thank you for expressing your will to support TE, It won't be possible for us to accept donations. All of us in staf myself included are here to donate to te and te is not going down for lack of funds. Thats a promise.

Yes contributing members will help te, and thats why we started premium memberships. Its important for us that those who contribute are given something as an extra. Please subscribe if you want to support te. I thank you again for your kind gesture.
 
Safin, what I'm hearing is that everyone is OK with the ads as long as it's not shown *within* a post - it should be *between* posts. I suggested and opted for a premium membership because it's the easy way out to avoiding these ads *within* posts... as I said earlier, this ad placement is bad design and if it's a technical issue you guys are struggling with, I'd be happy to help and I'm sure there are a bunch of experienced programmers around here who can too.

Trust me rio... *They* are *there* for a *reason*... And it takes a little more then a "experienced programmers" to manage a web protal like TE ;)
 
With all due respect, if the ad placements were a conscious design decision after a lot of discussion, it a bad one. I eluded to getting help from programmers because off the bat, the inappropriate ad placement looks like a mistake or oversight ;) Anyway, I've been involved in designing online commerce tools for consumers and ads *within a post* is misuse of real estate ;) That's just my opinion and I don't really have to care so much because as soon as the payment gateway is up, I pay to get rid of these ads :P
 
^^ technically speaking, none of the ads appear within your post. they appear below the post (i.e, between your post and your signature). i agree you reserve all rights for your post but don assume that entire rectangular post box as your personal property.

anyways, i think its enough now and we have clarified our position many times since the launch of this new design. I repeat we'll stick to this design as long its helpful and for the betterment of TE. Personally, I browse TE with ads on always and I don ever feel its annoying or irritating. If any of you feel the ads on TE are annoying in anyway, i'm sorry to say then you guys don really know what annoying ads mean.
 
I'm sure you guys will have data in a week/month that will determine whether the new ad placements are effective or not, but from experience, misplaced ads are as good as no ads.

I'm voicing my opinion in TE's best interest man, not mine :) This is the only Indian site I'm currently a member with because it's waaaay better than the others that thrive on spam and mindless topics.
 
the AD removal thing is a part of all premium memberships ... i dont really mind if its there or not there... u guys can maybe give away a few things with the premium membership ... according to the PREMIUM the members are willing to pay ... like a small TE keychain for the 300 rupee membership a t shirt for the 600 rupess membership and somethin better for the 1k membership :) and of course ad removal for every member with all the other privileges already mentioned :) coz having ads removes isnt really attracting me towards that membership :P
 
oops I'm not really bothered about ads unless its in my own thread lol . yes I long wanted to donate to TE for this great forum and luckily , thanks to Rio :P for his suggestion, premium membership got introduced . another reason being their CustomUserTitle tag :)
