fellas,

i'm looking for one in-ear headset with microphone.

primary usage would be for voice-chat...i find the normal headsets i.e. headworn ones quite uncomfortable and of course after getting used to sony hpm70 n creative ep630 :ohyeah: i guess my ears hv become allergic to any other type of earphone.

so far i have found the following in-ear ones but they are a bit expensive for my budget(Rs. 1000)...if you have used any of the following products/know of anything better pl do offer your comments.

Icemat Siberia In:Ear Headset - Icemat
( 50$, but 30$ on buy.com)

one from sony -http://shopper.cnet.com/bluetooth-headsets/sony-dr-bt10cx-headset/4014-12523_9-32328487.html?ar=o&tag=pdtl-list#p5 (err...this seems like its only for mobile phones) costly @70$

btw howz this(Amazon.com: Olympus ME-15 Microphone: Electronics) for only a mic? seems to be a good one

Am i better off with just a mic than getting one with earphones..?

amazing!! not a single view of this thread....totally unexpected i must say...it makes me think that i posted in the wrong section. anyways i still have some time bfr i go ahead with the order...so far i can't find anything better than the one listed above...

mods if its allowed kindly move this thread to pc-peripherals section.

Yep i think you're better off getting a separate mic and using it with your existing in-ear headphones. In-ear headset models would be very rare to get.

Or you could get the headsets intended for cellphones that have a 2.5mm jack .. get a 2.5mm to 3.5mm adapter and you should be good to go.

P.s: The thread view counter has an issue and is stuck to the number of posts in the thread, this should be fixed in the next vbulletin upgrade.

^ thanks.

Can a mic which is known to be good for voice recording be not good for voip calls? in my opinion there is no apparent reason why it should be any different. but still, i am not sure.

There is one from plantronics

Plantronics )) Computer )) Computer Headsets )) .Audio 480 Headset

which seems to be good enough but, again the price is a deterrent factor. Doesn't make any sense to spend 2.5k for just a mic. Seems i might have to settle for just a mic which should be able to pickup voice from a distance of say 3-5 feet and preferably omni-directional. If someone is already using something similar and satisfied with it please let me know.

and how abt this one?

Amazon.com: Audio-Technica ATR97 Omnidirectional Condenser Boundary Microphone: Electronics
