Well, its just a kind of bug which is still left in the final release of windows 7.
If you had tried the beta and the RC edition of Windows 7, then you would not have been asking this question(just joking!!!!!).
Well its not just the pendrive, if you observe carefully, then this thing actually happen with your hard drive also.
Copying/moving a big file(more than 1-2 GB), normally the transfer starts at 120-130 MBps(i've even seen more than 300MBps) then it drops to regular rate of 50-60 MBps.
Its basically the delay in displaying the results.Actually the transfer starts immediately when we give the command, but the transfer window pane comes after a delay of 1-2 secs. And on that pane the transfer speed comes with another delay of a sec.
So to balance that delay, the speed is shown as 120-130MBps or in pendrives as 50-60MBps but in reality the speed is just 10-12MBps(or actual speed of your pendrive).
So,teracopy is a better option to actually judge the transfer rate of your pendrives or hard drive as it gives and optimum and accurate speed.
