Increase size of extended partition?

I have a 160 gb hDD.
The division is as follows: 40gb primary partition , 40gb extended partition(containing 1 40gb logical partition) , 80gb unused space.
I want to increase the size of the extended partition without increasing the size of the logical partition within it.
How can it be done? suggest some reliable tool. I DO NOT want to lose my data , so suggest something that is reliable.

This is the best tool for rearranging the partition on HDD & the best thing is that it is FREE.

If possible try to backup the data before doing the resizing no matter how robust your application is....

i think you can use the windows disk management tool for resizing the extended partition. First of all backup your data, then delete the extended partition and create a new one of your choice

I ended up using Gparted in linux to increase size of extended partition. It worked well.

Use anything except this. One of the most horrible partition tool I have ever seen.
