India No1 Spammer

According to the reports produced by the security firm 'Sophos' india has become the top spamming country taking into consideration the first three months of this year. India has overcome US since the last year . India is now producing almost 10% of the total spam produced in the world. India has risen to the top of the spam chart because of the rapid growth of new Internet users in the country and computers that are not properly protected.

“The latest stats show that, as more first-time internet users get online in growing economies, they are not taking measures to block the malware infections that turn their PCs into spam-spewing zombies,†said Graham Cluley, senior technology consultant at Sophos.

The report is named "Dirty Dozen " and here are the remaining 11 countries

Its more like the people are openly spamming to earn money here. I get mails from unknown travel agencies, sites i never visited or signed up for etc. and all these are indian origin sites spamming users mail boxes. i started reporting such mails as spam in gmail and yahoo and sooner or later those mail servers will be marked as spam bots.

My no1 rule is "never subscribe to newsletters "

My Rule#1 is create a dummy a/c and then subscribe to all websites/deals/newsletters/mall contests to my heart contents! If you too tired or "pisXed" off, open the account and read thru the mails, its quite refreshing to read nonsense emails!!

Same here. Tired of receiving so many useless mails.

Plus i have another account for all these newsletter etc sites. I use it for only that purpose.
