According to a report issued by GSM Association INDIA at 19 kbps came in LAST for mobile broadband connection speed during 2010 and 2011.CHINA came in second last, China’s average mobile access speed was 50 kilobits per second, 2-1/2 times higher than that of India . But it was much lower than the speed in Japan and South Korea with about 1,400 kbps – almost 70 times faster compare to India …

Just goes on to show the pathetic state of affairs in telecom in India.

^^ If you are worried so much then Why dont you help INDIA in increasing its average speeds by subscribing to 3G plans in all your phones-home/office/family etc..

I am very much satisfied by the cheapest tarriffs in the world along with the freedom of choosing our handsets and carriers at our will and choice unlike some other developed nations.

I am happy with 1paisa/second calls. For net there is always broadband, and for 3G if you look hard enough It is not difficult to use it for next to nothing

I do believe that 3G is the way to go. After using it for some time now, the impressive speeds have got me adicted. Only problem is the limited packages and the hell of a battery drain!

MTNL is building a special local server facility specially in regional languages through which internet can be accessed with lightning speed. Currently we have to rely on foreign servers. Hope this will increase speed

We are getting so many hints about speed increase. I hope everyone gets atleast 2mbps UNLIMITED speed in India by end of 2012. That would be awesome. One thing everyone must have too agree, Calling and SMS rates in India are insanely cheap. People cry for SMS quota in other countries. Here in India, we send SMS like CRAZY. We have much better plans like 10p/min for specific cards which is brilliant.
