Hi

This is IMO, would like to know your opinions.

I am talking of gross family annual income (before tax)

Lower Class
<6 lacs
(Insufficient for most purposes)

Lower Middle Class
6-15 lacs
Lower level employees(A 25 year old is more like a fresher with just a few years exp, so his family income needs to include his parents income too)

Middle Class
15-40 lacs
Average professionals

Upper Middle Class
40 lacs - 2 crores
Well of executives/professionals

Affluent/Borderline Rich
2cr-6cr
Rich CEOs/Executives, richest doctors/lawyers etc

Rich/Upper Class
6cr OR Net Worth 100cr OR Cash assets worth 50cr
Handful of people in top cities like Delhi

Super Rich/India's Richest
24cr OR Net Worth 1000cr OR Cash Assets worth 250cr
Handful of people in the country

And I am not basting because my family doesn't even make it to the Affluent level, and we aren't even anywhere near close to that.

This just my IMO and would like to know your opinions about the same.

Holy $hit, seriously?
OMFG, My brain is gonna explode, WTF :@

I am not basting

How much does your family make? (White+Black)
And how much do you waste?
Post details with income proofs on this thread, thanks.

15-40 Lacs per annum and you say middle class??!!??

Either you are bullshitting big time or Im poor :P

P.S IINM ~700 million people in India earn <700 per month which is 8.4k per annum

Amazing, Just Amazing!
EVeryday as soon as i get up in the morning i pray to God to somehow make my Day eventfull, more interesting to rid me of the monotony that has set in and then this happens!
For a minute there i thought you would classify Family income based on the number of Jeans they have

you forget to consider the most important data. i.e. cost of living at the place of earning. Your middle class can be rich in some small town and lower middle in cities like Bangalore.

Similarly a guy earning 5 Lks in some towns (there are hundreds of such town) can live lavishly in that.

BTW What is the purpose for this thread?

Dude a person earning 20 lacs can't even afford to send their children to USA for higher studies (1+ cr for 4 years Bachelors). And this is what well of upper middle class or any affluent family should be able to do.

Yes the Motto of Upper Middle Class families -
Produce Dumb kids, spoil them furthermore so they cant get into any indian college, send them to ameriKA!
People earning 20 Lakhs can easily send in their Kids to USA for under grad, there is an finacial intrument called LOANS with which it is possible!

and once in a while to defile the calm and peace of the noble domain of techenclavians arrive cretins! pay no heed and they shall melt away into the oblivion!

Just to give some info to you people,

India has some 2-3 lac millionaires.

A millionaire is a person with net assets worth $1m or more excluding one place of residence.

If there are about 2 lac people in India, I assume that at least 30k of them would be from NCR.

That means about 30k families are millionaires.

NCR has a population of 1.5cr which is something like less than 60 lac families I guess.

This means that one in 200 families is a millionaire family.

And a really good portion of these families, if not the majority would be earning a family income worth at least 1-2 cr annually, if not more.

And when I say rich, I mean 1 in 5000 or 10000 families, not 1 in 100 families.

1 in 100 is at best affluent or perhaps not even that.

Affluent people are those who can't exactly be classified as middle class, because they are borderline. Often they have enough contacts to move political authorities and nobody can touch them.

Rich people control the Govt most of the times and very rich people are basically kings.

Whats there is US that is not available in our country. Its just a lame excuse that people give. Those who wants to study can do it even in the remorse condition. IMHO shifting one to US or any other country doesn't mark the criteria of being rich or defines one class :P

Duh :| When did India became a developed nation the last time I remember watching people piling huge line over ration store for cheap eatables. Grow up and look out. The thing you post is baseless, go out and work around the real India, tthe metros and malls doesn't define India, and will never do. Look out those poor struggling for a piece of chapati and one time meal. Saying and creating a survey is very easy but carving this out for real is one heck of a job. ;)

Get some air and come out of the luxury you have. Wander in the slums and you will know what I am talking about.

[strike]USD 1 million = INR 10 lacs

so your lower middle class and above people are all millionaires. then why not put them in the millionaire category instead of making so many divisions?[/strike]

USD 1 million = 4.6 crores. Sorry for that goof up.

Just when I was thinking that I might finally make it to the middle class... poof.. you had to pull me back to the lower middle class..!!! :@ Why did you burst my bubble..??  :P

Why the hell did I click this link? I just became poorer.

There are two Indias. This looks at just one. We live in the other :P

The thing you guys still don't realize is that whenever the OP talks about money its always in paise.
