actually dada i was going to comment upon ur achievements the day it was posted here but just as i had typed my reply the net (mtnl triband) started acting up ...it was flaky since last 2 days ...only since this afternoon some normalcy has been restored...my comments were in humour only ....great o/c you have achieved already given the parameters and limitations you are working with.

anyways i dont think ur existing silverstone would be a hinderance. ur rams are surely very "basic". i can help out partly in hard-mods (provided you have the "dil" to take the m/b loss incase something screws up:D )
as regards chiller ....you should not be having any problems ....there is a virtual factory with unlimited supply on the terrace of ur buildiing ....especially on a moonlit night. ( this joke is between dada and me .... )

and oh dont bother about the poor rankings on XtremeSystems.willingness to o/c and participate is more important. if you ever require the services of any of us TE members just honk .....you would be surprised how quickly you climb the rankings there .....for you have our collective best wishes in ur endeavour.

ps: is this m/b socket 479 ?? ( i hardly track all these things nowadays ...)

Hehe, Sir thank you for the kind words and that amazing offer, but modding will take sometime as I still want to run Merom with this board.

Yes this is Socket 479.. and is compatible with yonah & merom. But there is going to be a new variant of merom with 800FSB and that has a different socket, iirc.

Hi guys.. got my new RAM... as my cuzz finally landed.

SORRY FOR POOR QUALITY OF IMAGES, SONY W550 isnt that GOOD WITH LOW LIGHT.

But first my setup when I started testing [its in Lian-Li as of now]

Ram as it came... all packed up!

Here it is... unpacked

Ready for action!

Surprisingly it has a sticker showing 0605 DDR2-800 meaing its mostly using the micron[Rev D9] chips instead of Elpida chipss in 0604. So I think this may work wonder once its @ 2.3V atleast, as shown here.

I will update after testing.

Lucky!!!!! Harshal !!!!

Micron D9s :O :O :O....

Go crazy OC'ing em man..

So ur not Unlucky after all ;)...

Also ....i donno if this is true but arguably Harshal has been PM'ed by Tony from OCZ regarding the new avtar of the famous VX series, its gonna be out with the model no. OCZ VX2.

VX2? hmm...going to ask tony that 2morrow

anyway, looking really nice harshal. Can't wait to see what you can conjure up with tha HZ

you really think a zebby PSU will be enough?

my 550W zebby i got for when i had to RMA my Antec gave me 9.8V on 12V rail when trying to power my rig...wouldn't even post

And the 550W im talking about is supposedly the "good" one with 120MM LED fan....piece of crap and waste of money

anyway, good luck! :D

Well I think when a local 400W [say 200W or 250W original] PSU can handle it till 3Ghz with that ordinary 2-phase power circuit. A Zebby 450W+ should handle whatever is left in that Chip very easily, but plan is in action and I have already asked my friend in Texas, US to order Silverstone Zeus 750W for me... tho no confirmation yet... it should happen in this 3-4 days with about 15-20days till it reaches Mumbai.

About VX2... well there is a whole thread about it @ XS by Tony.

I am not sure but it seems the RAM isnt doing that great becuase the board doesnt have the ncessary voltage options required to really juice up things.I guess harshal himself can shed some light on this.

AFAIK this board supports only 2.1V Vdimm which is pretty less when you take into consideration that we are talking about D9 chips here.

Even though if we take into consideration that they arent Fatbody and are revised D9,still it needs volts to go high speeds on tight timings.

Harshal, please shed some light on this...

Well yes its not going to do 3-3-3-8 or 4-3-3-8@say 333 or 400 with 2.15V for sure. With say 2.3-2.4V things will get going and may be just like the ones Tested on XS by GS-Tech dood.

Also with limited BIOS options its difficult to get it going in first place... yeah I know but MEM SET will freez most of the time with 2.15V. So its kinda irritating and time consuming.

Hold on Harshal, your RAM will unleash its power when your Conroe setup is up and running, have patience.
