Indiatimes - 50% redemption on any product

ouch the following terms and conditions mess it up......

---Gift Certificate will be issued in the multiple of 250 only subject to a minimum coverage of the cumulative GC amount. E.g. – Total purchase of Rs. 2600 hence cumulative minimum GC amount is 1300 – so GC in denomination of 250*5 = 1250 + 250 = 1500 will be given.

---# Gift Certificate will be non-mergeable.

---# Each Gift certificate can be redeemed for a purchase of Rs.1500 and above.

i would stay away from indiatimes,

once ordered a domain from them, got refund after 1.8 yrs, after about 20 mails

This offer is there for past few months. useless offer, I would say. To make use of each 250rs voucher, you need to make a purchase for 1500rs minimum. You can not use multiple vouchers for a single order, which means you have to make as many purchases as the number of vouchers you get :P. It may work out to around 15% discount in the end, but their prices are already hiked (about 20% ? or more ?). Also Customer service is a alien concept to indiatimes. You will never get a reply for your mails. You have to make long distance calls to indiatimes call center and they will humiliate you to the core.

I would say

NO THANKS

^^ Nope - it actually translates into a loss by the simple assumption that Indiatimes prices are hiked by 20% from market price (which in my browsing experience at Indiatimes is quite resonable) :P

Why? To use your gift voucher most effectively you will have to buy something worth Rs. 1500 and you'll get it for 1500 - 250 = 1250. But this item probably costs Rs. 1250 in the market in the first place. Thus the gift vouchers are effectively useless or worse :P

However to get these gift vouchers in the first place you bought something at a hiked price >> loss. Oh and I'm discounting the agony and mental anxiety associated with Indiatimes Shopping based on the customer reviews here :P

Have to hand it to these indiatimes people, instead of genuine deals they insist on fooling/tempting the customer and making money..sigh..

you forgot the 500 buck purchase reqd to get the coupon in the first place. that translates to getting 1.75k worth of stuff for 2k, even worse :P

for the last couple of years indiatimes shopping has really become pathetic.more than half the orders i placed there got cancelled and customer care is'nt great iether.(got the refunds within 2 weeks but it was the waste of time which bugged me the most)
:@

I was also being robbed by Indiatimes with these coupons. Just to use these coupons, I had spend another 1500/- from my packet.
I would suggest all to stay away from this offer.

I've lost quite some money in online purchases on ebay itself (but, to be honest, I've found some stuff that wasn't easy to find.)

IMO, some of the best deals are listed in our hot deals section and with some TE dealers. I would stay away from indiatimes for any kind of shopping. By caring a damn for customer satisfaction, they imply that they don't take their business seriously(much like Satyam :P .)
