i opened the TOI in the morning and was shocked to read the following:

Indiatimes.com Poll:
Yesterday's result: Will Google's Chrome be a Windows killer?
Yes: 50%
No: 35%
Can't say: 15%

I dont know whats worse, TOI not knowing what they are doing or the people who actually voted.
 
chrome is the fastest browser i have used so far...have not conducted any tests...my feeling after using few times yesterday...i am back to FF...i miss the drop down bar in chrome.....
 
No one needs to kill IE..its armed with a self destruct button ready to blow up anytime

worst browser, toll-free gateway for virus/trogans/whatnot
 
what i was trying to point out was that it should've been chrome vs ie and not chrome vs windows.
 
As long as windows rules, IE would be at the top in browser share .

Reason? It comes $#%%^@^ pre-installed and normal once in a week user don't give crap to what's secure and what's not . Big blue IE icon on desktop rules :(
 
Their point was with such robust browsers people won't need a full blown OS.

Also, it is predicted that in few years people would start storing their data on Internet and less on their PCs. maybe this would prove in US, but here certainly not.

with less than 1% population have High speed internet. broadband is still a dream.

I have been really giving serious thoughts to this... why am I paying for TOI subscription... there own stuff is crap anyway.

Used Chrome today and it is definitely faster than other browsers, I have used. It still has some bugs, shuts down now and then. Things like the drop-down bar must be added.

So, Back to my good old Opera for now :P
 
Gd. Another Microsoft Bashing post.I thnk people feel good after bashing. I m using Windows XP with IE 8(beta) withour any prob. Opera 9(beta)-hotmail and aol do not work properly, FF-crashes freuquently.Google- god save.In comparison to these Netscape works much better. Plz check this.

I was one of the people in the anti chrome movement just because I felt that Google should have given us more than just a weird blue looking browser and after using Firefox for more than 4 years I was in no mood to switch.

But once I started using Chrome my whole idea changed.. It's way faster to load, can open as many tabs as you want without slowing the PC down or hanging up on me. More specifically each tab is separate process, so if some tab hangs you can separately kill that process. I hated the light blue colour of the window bar. But now in Vista it's transparent... so that problems is also solved! One more thing I noticed was that while downloading Chrome immediately downloads at the max speed available.. (this was my personal observation, not quite sure about it.)

Now I'm completely behind Chrome and am going to stick to it for a long time :D

Get DNA instead of TOI, 100 times better than TOI and an year long subsciption is just 299 Rs.

Maybe those sites dont work properly in Opera is because they were designed for IE. FF is very stable maybe you have a buggy addon.
Netscape ???
