What do you guys think about this? Do go through the so called apology post that portrays this guys arrogance.

Many seem to welcome steam's stance while some think that its pretty harsh. Personally, I think the action was very well justified and the least they could have done.

The main debatable question is whether the company deserves to get punished because of the behavior of one person? That is actually how things go. He was the face of the company, so anything he does as the face of the company reflects on the company.

Steam has done well here. Anyway, being an individual too Maulbeck should have watched his mouth before using such language on social media. One of the conditions while working in any organization is that one should be extra careful while posting anything about the company. Any bad press, and company has the right to terminate employment. So, here being the face of his company he could have at least acted as a grown up and sorted out the matter in a professional way.

He already resigned yesterday so that future projects aren't affected, but he's already destroyed his career prospects going by his comments on his outgoing blog post.
He got what he deserved imo.
p.s. shouldn't this be under gaming ?

What a f**king idiot.

BTW I've often heard that many devs in indie scene aren't hired by big studios because of their ego, arrogance and lack of professionalism. So I guess this guy just ruined his career in one tweet.
