Windows Instagram app issues on Win10

I have installed few apps via Microsoft store such as Telegram , Whatsapp, Instagram etc.

All app work good except for Instagram.

If I click on any Instagram url on any webpage, instead of opening it in the app it opens on the webpage itself and asks for credentials.
Its very frustrating.

Is there any workaround or a solution for this?

Because Instagram for Windows is not a full app, it's just a web app that runs using the Edge browser, so it doesn't open links in it.
Why not use a browser to access Instagram and pin its link to the taskbar?

Instagram in Chrome on Windows 10 works awful for me! Every time I hit the end of the page and IG needs to load the next few posts, it refuses to scroll past the last loaded post.
I have to scroll like 7-8 times before it stops bouncing up and down and goes on to the next post.
Have stopped using Instagram on desktop altogether coz of this.
 
I never used Instagram much because it insists you sign in even to view. I've found workarounds for that which work on a desktop
