CPU/Mobo Intel 945 replacement

I have an Intel D945GCNL MoBo that is dead.

The advice on checks for the "dead"ness was obtained from these forums.

This satisfies my needs so I dont want to upgrade the proccy - Intel Core2Duo 2.2GHz (E4500). What would be the suitable replacement MoBo ?

My needs are basic home pc, light gaming for the kids, torrent downloads 24x7, have an IDE DVD writer, and 2 SATA HDDs. Would need LAN for the ADSL modem, RAM: 2X1GB DDR 667MHz. I need to use the listed stuff.

Request to pl. advice on the options. Thank you !

yes brother. this is the good to go for. I have upgraded from a e4400 + 945 last week. I got a e7500+gigabyte g31 mobo. you can OC your proccy pretty neatly in this board.

My Gigabyte 865 died, next was the turn of Intel, I will try Asus or MSI this time.

^ or u can get nvidia 8300 board or 7300 board (any brand) for 2-3k for basic gaming ;) which can handle all games at low setting or buy external graphic card
