CPU/Mobo Intel B250 upgrade path

My current main computer consists of a Pentium G4560 in a Gigabyte B250M-D3H, with 2*8GB 2400MHz and a 1660 Super, and 1080p 60fps is my target performance, at least for the foreseeable future (which is almost always achieved). Other than a full platform switch to AMD, what would be a decent upgrade in the CPU department to improve in games like RDR2 and Cyberpunk, or at least eliminate frame-drops and micro-stutter at 1080p 30fps?

You may want to go with atleast an used 7th Gen i5. But honestly, it makes sense to upgrade your cpu and mobo together to a more current gen platform (intel/amd), if you can and want to that is, because any money you spend now on that cpu upgrade will be kind of wasted if you again upgrade in a year or so.

That's the thing, I'm not going to upgrade "in a year or so". This is the main family desktop, so the traditional Indian middle-class mentality of "use it till it's dead - and then some" applies in full force.

You have 2 ways to do this ,
1. Wait for a deal on used 7th gen i5 or i7 (non-k)
2. Sell ur b250 and g4560 for like 6-8k and buy a new combo i3-10100f with h410 is good bang for buck for around 12k
I3 10100f is good for future upgrades too it can handle upto a 2060super

From a performance standpoint compared to the G4560, is it worth spending ~5K on a 7500/7700 for 1080p/60fps?

Absolutely , most definately yes . You see with 2c/4t on a 1660s u will notice hell a lot of stuttering and frame spikes , uogeading to 7400 will eliminate stuttering relatively but will still be cpu bottlenecked , with 7700 u will get most out of your gpu surely
But don't spend a lot on cpu cuz we now have i3 10100f for 7.8k which is equal to a i7 7700 , so consider that too.
