unless one is going for a decent onboard gfx card..i dont see the need for amd cpu's.intel is the better option..given its network in india

What do u mean by network in India exactly? :)

n need for AMD cpus? ask anyone who's on a budget :D I agree that Intel gives way more performance, but i would still pick an AMD cos i cant afford the Intels :(

Im and always will be an AMd enthusiast but right now intel has "supremacy" with the Core2 line up so if its performance u need then go for intel no doubts to that..for now.........................

but if on a budget go for AMD combo + the fact new proccesors will be available for AM2/AM2+ platform by next year or this year .so investing in an AM2 wont be waste.

also in india ,intel is a market leader the aftersales for an intel product is much more than AMD (almost non existent)

Even i am amd fan. I just got to say that one rather go with amd+asus combo then intel+intel(mobo) config when it comes to general use and/or gaming without overclocking. Socket 939 users are using opt to give a good performance while intel ddr1 boards are nearly extinct. That itself proves that amd boards have more upgrade options even if your mobo+cpu budget is dead low and its meant for gaming.
