Guys I want to know my Intel Core 2 Duo E7500 @ 2.93 GHz is Equivalent to Which i series Intel Processor like i3 or i5?
Sorry Intel core 2 duo is one and only. but you can get some of i5 at the more or less same speed as c2d have .
Hey, Core2Duo isn't bad processor at all. It's a tad way better than Pentium 4 or other Dual core systems. You can still encode / decode videos, use photoshop, use maya, use autocad . But it'll take lot of time, still it's pretty fast for normal applications and office purposes.
Really?
Beside, i am not sure but Intel c2d is more cheaper than inter core i3 and so on. but the facility are almost same. I think the the core i3, i5 etc they have a better quality graphic than the C2D.
You'll notice in the above page that max clock speed has been stuck at around 3GHz since the P4. The improvements chipzilla makes nowadays is with new instruction sets, additional cores, cache memory, and chip die width.
I even doubt if a C2D would be available on the market today, except as second-hand.
BTW, the quality of graphics isn't dependent on the processor, but rather on the GPU. The motherboards available at the time of C2D had PCIE 1.1 slots, while today's motherboards are PCIE 2.0 & 3.0. The new PCIE slots should have greater bandwidth available to them, however PCIE 2.0 is backwards compatible with PCIE 1.1 (I'm not sure about PCIE 3.0). So OP should be able to upgrade graphics by getting a new GPU.
Then why Intel say the 2Nd generation processor are visually smart. And the add. show a really high quality graphic display,( I am also quite impressed with the add). Please reply.
Did i need a high quality graphic card to get the view like those add.
Do processors really matter a lot in gaming ? I mean, I have a Dual Core E5200 @3.5Ghz overclocked and an ATI 4850 1GB.
Now what would be more beneficial in gaming, getting an i3 or getting a more powerful gfx card ?
Intel can claim anything in their ad's. It doesn't have to meet reality. Reality would be for you to figure out after shelling out your hard earned moolah, unless you clue up by doing some research
I use Axe deo (the chocolate flavour, that too) but I don't see any attractive females wanting to take a bite, unlike their ad
I haven't seen the ad, but I'll hazard a guess that the ad is talking about onboard GPU. Buy a good external GPU, and it'll whip the the onboard GPU's butt any given day.
It depends on the game type. Usually, RTS games are generally CPU constrained while FPS games are generally GPU constrained. There are a few other factors impacting this, like your monitor resolution. Most FPS games nowadays are console ports, so they aren't going strain that much on CPU & recent GPUs.
For your scenario, I think a GPU upgrade would be more VFM that upgrading the entire rig.
